Long CVs don't mean more experience. They mean you can't summarize.
Here is the SwitcherBrief One-Page Formula:
Top 20% - Header: Name, Phone, Email, City (Bushbuckridge / Johannesburg), LinkedIn link. No full address needed.
Next 15% - Professional Summary: 3 lines max. Formula: [Who you are] + [Years/Field] + [Top 2 Skills] + [Biggest Achievement]. Example: "Admin Assistant with 2 years experience supporting busy offices. Expert in MS Office & diary management. Reduced filing time by 40% at previous company."
Next 30% - Key Skills & Tools: 8-10 bullets in 2 columns. Match the job ad. Example: Data Capturing, Customer Service, Sage, MS Excel, Fluent Sepedi.
Next 25% - Work Experience (Only Last 2-3 Jobs): For each: Title | Company | 2023-2025. Then 2-3 bullets starting with verbs: Achieved, Built, Managed, Created.
Bottom 10% - Education & Link: Matric / Diploma / Certificate + Institution + Year. Then one link: Portfolio / LinkedIn.
What to CUT: Primary school, full address, ID number, reasons for leaving, references details (just write "Available on request"), hobbies unless relevant.
One page = respect for the recruiter's time.
