75% of CVs are rejected by ATS before a recruiter sees them. ATS = Applicant Tracking System. PNet, LinkedIn, and big companies all use it.
Are you making these mistakes?
1. Using Tables, Columns, and Text Boxes: ATS reads left-to-right like a book. Tables confuse it. Your info gets scrambled. Solution: Use a single-column layout.
2. Fancy Headings: Don't write "Where I've Hustled" instead of "Work Experience". The robot only knows standard headings: Professional Summary, Work Experience, Education, Skills.
3. No Keywords From The Advert: If the ad says "Customer Relationship Management" and you wrote "Helped customers", the ATS scores you 0. Copy-paste exact keywords and phrases.
4. Images, Logos, and Graphs: That skill bar that says "Excel 90%" — ATS can't read it. It sees nothing. Replace with text: "Advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP)".
5. Saving as .JPG or Wrong File Type: Always save as .DOCX for ATS portals and .PDF for email to a person. File name matters: CV_Switcher_Man_Marketing.pdf not MyCV_final_final.pdf.
Test it: Copy your CV text and paste it into a plain Notepad. If it looks messy there, ATS sees it as messy too.
